What Are the Different Types of Codes and How Do They Work?
Modern car keys come with unique chips that are unique to each vehicle, unlike older keys. This stops thieves from taking the key and then turning on the car.
These keys are available at the dealership or cloned at the locksmith's shop. The procedure of the manufacturer differs, but it involves turning the ignition key to the "on" position without starting the car and then removing the key within a specified time period.
Transponder Codes
As its name suggests, transponders transmit an encoded signal containing an eight-digit number code whenever it is interrogated by air traffic control. This signal, called SQUAWK Code SQUAWK Code is used to locate aircraft on radar screens. It is also used to send a specific message to the air traffic control system in a crisis or to notify controllers to changes in weather conditions. Squawk codes are commonly employed to communicate with ATC in situations where pilots are unable to speak on the radio, and are very important to ensure safe flying.

While a longer code might seem more secure however, there are ways to hack or guess a PIN code that is just four digits long. PIN codes are also required by some OEMs to allow key programmers from aftermarket to stop them from being misused by unauthorised people to harvest data from the modules.
VIN Numbers
VIN numbers can be used to identify vehicles and provide a wealth information about them. VIN numbers are unique for each vehicle on earth, except alien cars (or whatever). The 17 numbers of the VIN code are a mixture of letters and numbers which can be decoded to reveal vital information regarding your car or truck.
